Overview: Sacred Heart Pre-Primary School is part of a co-educational complex, kindergarten through twelfth grade, owned and operated by the Sisters of Divine Providence in Kingston, Massachusetts. Sacred Heart is a private, Catholic institution of over eleven hundred students from a fifty-mile radius on the South Shore. In 1947, the Congregation of the Sisters of Divine Providence was welcomed into the Archdiocese of Boston by Richard J. Cushing, Archbishop of Boston. Following the first season of Camp Mishannock (Kingston), Mishannock Alpha School, later renamed Sacred Heart Pre-Primary School, was opened on Route 80, Kingston. Since that time, the Pre-Primary has always been able to serve young children with an all-day program for five year olds. One of the important changes that has occurred over the years is the fact that Sacred Heart School was, in part, a resident school.
