Overview: Later, in 1989, Lou went back to his roots in the butcher trade and he opened up Lou's Prime Meat Market in Palmyra, NJ. At this point he had full support, and Lou and Maria's three sons, Nick, Jack and John, helped with the day-to-day operation of the meat market. After a year of Lou's Prime Meat Market, Lou realized he missed the excitement of the restaurant business and converted the market into a restaurant and introduced the Palmyra, Cinnaminson, Riverton and Delran area to Lou's Palmyra Restaurant. After working with his father for several years, his son Nick envisioned a much larger restaurant which would serve a broader community of South Jersey. In August 1999, Nick's HomeTown Diner opened it doors, with a die-hard repeat customer base along with a larger dining area to welcome new business as well as out-of-town travellers of Route 130 as well.
