Overview:
Let me introduce myself, my name is Rosalie (Rosie) Gonzalez and I am a native of San Diego, Calif. Rosie's Calico Cupboard Quilt Shop has been catering to Quilters and Crafters since 1983, beginning with just 5 bolts of fabric. My husband Victor and I began our business by doing yard sales and then eventually ventured to the local 'flea market'. During this period I knew nothing about quilting, but I did have a thriving craft business. As our fabric inventory grew, we found it impossible to continue at the 'flea market', and eventually moved into our garage. We conducted business once a week, on Saturday from 8 am until 3 pm. In 1991 we found ourselves with so much fabric, that it was time to think about opening a store front. By this time, I was doing very little crafting and lots and lots of quilting.
