Overview:
Correction Controls, the developer and manufacturer of the SR System, was founded in Willard, Ohio in 1984. The company was established out of a necessity to find and develop a specific solution to excessive demand charges encountered by the agricultural industry in the geographic region surrounding the founder. The excessive demand charges incurred from irrigation pumps, particularly in the summer, and agricultural processing facilities during the growing season was of great concern to this region which encompassed over 4,000 acres of produce farming. Standard capacitors seemed to be the logical answer. In fact, it was the only technology available. However, in the realm of electrical equipment, new and innovative products were in production constantly. But, the capacitor seemed to be the one electrical product that had not changed or improved in over thirty (30) years and thus became the "traditional" or standard technology. The founder was once quoted as saying, "Thirty years of standard capacitor application unhampered by progress." Thus, he set out to design an innovative system which would transcend capacitor technology. In short, the chain of events which followed over the next several years, prior to Correction Controls, included the research and development of various systems having common characteristics of standard capacitors, but able to out-perform capacitors.
