Overview:
Miss Billye's is named after it's founder Miss Billye Jones. She began dancing at age 6 and has never stopped. Miss Billye began teaching in Bartlesville, Ok in 1947 and then moved to Tulsa, OK where she taught for 28 years. She finally moved to Plano, TX where she has taught for 26 years. Miss Billye has taught her specialty, tap, to thousands of students. She officially "retired" in 2004 but is still a familiar face around the studio, still helping out with choreography and teaching students her wonderful tap style. Her daughter, Jana Simpson, has taken over the studio and also teaches tap, continuing to pass on Miss Billye's legacy to many eager young dancers. Miss Jana's daughters have also previously taught at the studio continuing the true family business. At Miss Billye's, our goal is to provide an outstanding dance education in a happy, positive atmosphere. Both competition and performance opportunities are available. | |
