Overview: New studios have been opened and a Design Lab installed for photography, documentation and website services. The ArtEgg Gallery featuring works from the ArtEgg Community and invited exhibitors has opened. The Times Picayune recently noted that the ArtEgg Building was one of the most important happenings in New Orleans. ArtEgg Studios was featured in the April 2002 issues of New Orleans Magazine. ArtEgg Studios' rooftop billboards have been donated to the Arts Council of New Orleans, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Ogden Museum, and the Contemporary Arts Center. "Everybody Loves a Good Egg" remains ArtEgg's slogan. In the words of former owner Charles Frank, "I am very pleased to see the application of the grand old facility to a use by artists and artisans." |
