| Overview: Peace and Hope Trust relies heavily on volunteer teams consisting of ex-patriots and locals working side-by-side to execute our projects in Nicaragua. The goal of this cooperative model is to foster an atmosphere in which fully-functional, well-run and efficient programs can be achieved. Peace and Hope Trust believes that under-developed populations need consistent, robust and well implemented programs that incorporate local leadership and reach all sectors of society. Local Nicaraguans play a vital role in our work throughout the country, participating in many different capacities and on many varied levels. Be it through vocational training, literacy classes, full-time employment or part-time work alongside our numerous volunteers, Peace and Hope Trust endeavors to provide a well-rounded array of opportunity to our constituents, encouraging them to assume strong roles of responsibility in the care and development of their country. The volunteers and interns who join us in the work also share this same experience as they work closely with the Nicaraguans.
