Overview:
Carter County Museum was founded in 1936, by Walter H. Peck, Deloss Hall, and Septon Cady, under the auspices of the Carter County Geological Society. It holds the distinct honor of being the first county museum founded within the State of Montana, and is funded solely through a 1.5 mil County Tax Levy and the generous donations of its visitors and annual supporters. Carter County Museum is a non-profit organization that depends upon contributions of its visitors and annual supporters to continue preserving the past for the future. | |
