Mustang Beginnings | | | Overview: Then, a little more than four years ago my family and I went to the prestigious "Concourse De Elegance" held annually in our hometown of Monterey, California. We were blown away by the beauty and history of the cars we saw there. We realized that without the classics of the past how could we possibly measure the accomplishments of today, and it was sad to realize how many fabulous cars had been lost in junkyards, never to be seen again. A desire began to grow from what we saw that day. We began to wish to somehow participate in the rebirth of these classic cars, and what they symbolized, a time gone by when quality meant dependable steel components not plastic, when one could really tell the difference between a Ford and a Chevy, and repairing your car didn't require a PhD in electronics. If you've ever been drawn to the glint of a dusty window, or an antennae reaching out above the grass, and for a moment you see past the dents, the broken headlight, the missing doors, and you see the car the way it once looked, and the way it could look again, then you know how I felt that day a few months later when we were given our first Mustang. She was only a rough skeleton of a 69 Mustang Coupe, but she promised with our help to become beautiful! While working on her restoration, we started thinking of ways we could help others find the same beauty, and so MustangBeginnings was born. | |
