Overview: McKinney Products Co. began producing hinges in Hamilton Ohio in 1864. In 1903 they moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to be closer to the steel industry, the main material used for hinge production. Then, in 1964, 100 years after our beginning, the company moved to Scranton, Pennsylvania where we are still located today. Over the years, the products produced at this 200,000 square foot manufacturing plant have changed from primarily a consumer and residential line of hardware to an almost exclusive line of commercial hinges and some select residential hinges. Hinges produced here are designed for use in hospitals, hotels, nursing homes, office buildings, schools and any other structure that would require a high grade hinge. Our product is sold through contract hardware and aftermarket distributors in 50 states and throughout the world in cities and countries as far away as Singapore, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia.
