Overview:
The Princeton Family Center for Education, Inc., was established in 1987 in response to the need for a regional postgraduate training program in Bowen family systems theory, a natural systems theory that offers a broad new perspective on human behavior. In 1990, PFCE secured status as a nonprofit, educational institution to teach Bowen theory to lay people and organizational leaders, as well as to other such professionals as therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, clergy, nurses, and teachers. Dr. Murray Bowen, originator of the Bowen theory and founder of the Georgetown Family Center in 1967, was a teacher and trainer at PFCE until shortly before his death in 1990. PFCE is composed of ten faculty members, most of whom are available for training and individual coaching in Bowen family systems theory. Courses and training programs are offered annually during the academic year. |
