Overview:
Roger Barber and Carl Laroe created Action Moving & Storage in 1985. Between the two of them, they turned one 1977 GMC truck and a 200 square foot office into the strongest moving and storage company around. Within a year they quadrupled their fleet and moved to a new location. By 1992 they moved to their current location on Jasper Mine Road, gained a much larger fleet of trucks, constructed the Cadillac of storage space facilities, and acquired many valuable employees. Action Moving & Storage went from a small business to the largest volume operation of its kind in the state. They are currently pushing along 1000 special commodity shipments and internal trucking contracts in addition to local and out-of-state residential moves. Besides local and out-of-state residential moves, Action Moving & Storage handles company moves and operations for IBM, General Dynamics. Our work is divided almost equally between household and commercial moves, the latter including offices, heavy manufacturing plants and equipment and - our specialty - libraries, which we have moved for the University of Vermont, Johnson State College, and Lyndon State College. We have also successfully moved a stack of medical records "a mile long" for Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. | |
