This 17 th century building, located in Cold Spring Harbor, was named at one time the Van Ausdall's Hotel, where whalers used to come to drink, sleep and have a good time. This fascinating hotel and its remarkable history may be found in a book of Cold Spring Harbor's history, written by Ms. Terry Walton. Over the years, the Inn has been through a number of owners and transformations, including a clam bar! 105 Harbor is warmly decorated in a streamlined yet rich manner with lots of polished wood, offset with warm earth tones, brass lighting fixtures and lots of greenery. The spacious lounge features a beautiful circular bar with fireplace and cozy seating area, the ideal place to kick back and enjoy a drink or after dinner digestif. The downstairs dining room exudes a quiet calm, which is enhanced by the wonderfully oversized fireplace. The upstairs dining room is dominated by a wall of windows featuring spectacular views of the harbor and surrounding countryside. Needless to say, the window side tables are in great demand. When making reservations, be sure to ask for one. Colorful artwork, brass lighting, candles and fresh flowers finish off the room, giving it a warm and romantic feeling. | |
