The Musical Instrument Repair Shop is a full service wind instrument repair facility. All repairs are performed by our master craftsman, Mr. Kay, with over 40 years experience in all areas of woodwind and brasswind repair and restoration technology. Our level of expertise is guaranteed to satisfy and delight the most discerning professional musician. From minor repairs and adjustments to complete restorations and custom modifications, the Musical Instrument Repair Shop offers a degree of excellence that is rare in the music industry. In 1968 Mr. Kay began an apprenticeship in wind instrument repair while yet attending high school. Having 7 years training in and receiving many awards for musical performance, combined with an inherent mechanical aptitude, Mr. Kay excelled rapidly in the vocation of musical instrument repair. While attending college on a full music scholarship Mr. Kay continued repairing part time, evenings and weekends serving local music stores. In 1975 Mr. Kay opened his first Musical Instrument Repair Shop which soon earned the reputation of being the professionals' choice repair facility. Top professional musicians and recording artists from all over the United States came to the Musical Instrument Repair Shop for diagnostics, repairs, restorations and custom modifications on their instruments.
