Overview:
Just Africa Gallery was originally established in 1992. However, the first retail gallery, located then in Harwich Port, was not open to the public until July 1993 and was only operated seasonally - from June through September. Then the gallery was relocated on Main Street, Hyannis - opened by Charles Odams, Jr. in 1995. Many of the art works offered at Just Africa Gallery have been personally selected by Mr. Odams during his trips to Africa. Some additional pieces are procured from specialists traveling throughout other areas of the African continent. Originally the gallery offered its patrons only stone sculpture. However we found a great demand for the paintings, weavings, pottery and wood carvings which we had brought from Africa to use as decor for the Gallery. Today the Gallery offers a wide range of different art mediums for our visitors to view and purchase. |
