| Overview: This year, the Allegro Foundation will present its first fund-raiser fashion show on Feb. 23 at Felix Sabates's Mercedes-Benz of South Charlotte. "Felix [Sabates] is a big supporter of Allegro, and we thought it [the dealership] would be a unique venue to combine with a fund-raiser and fashion show," says Pat Farmer, Allegro's executive director. The evening will begin as guests arrive "on the red carpet," have their photos taken by local "paparazzi," and are greeted by Allegro board members. As they enter the dealership showroom, a four-piece band will play as guests enjoy hors d'oeuvres and wine compliments of Luce Ristorante. Following dinner at 8:45 p.m., the fashion show will begin with designs donated by Belk Department Stores. Two of the models, Brittney daCosta and Emily Cate, presented the fashion show idea to Farmer as a way to show their support of the foundation. "These two young ladies heard about Allegro and said they wanted to do something to give back," Farmer says. "This event is the result of their idea." Larry Sprinkle, WCNC-TV personality and an Allegro board member, will serve as emcee for the evening's festivities. Sprinkle will introduce a video that illustrates in more detail what funds from the event will help support.
