| Overview: As Cape Cod became the fastest growing region in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, home values and costs skyrocketed while living wage jobs became more and more scarce. This reality was devastating for the Wampanoag, Native Americans indigenous to this area, as well as our neighbors, many who have generations of history here. People well invested in this region were being squeezed out by economic necessity while demand for skilled construction labor was increasing. WampWorx was born in this environment to provide jobs and fulfill a need for qualified contractors motivated to achieve a reputation that assures our place in the community. A great leap of faith was necessary to jump into such a competitive business where well-established general contractors are the competition at every turn. Challenged to provide the best labor, the best craftsmen and the most qualified leadership at a competitive rate, the WampWorx leadership was not shy in pursuing jobs large and small on a proving ground not easily plotted. From painting houses at the Aquinnah Wampanoag Housing Project on Martha's Vineyard, to assisting with the construction of Cape Cod's first Roche Brothers supermarket in Mashpee, WampWorx was on the job. All the while, a major objective for WampWorx was the Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) issued by the Department of Defense.
