Overview:
Blake Equipment Company, Inc., Bloomfield, CT is the home office for eleven branches located throughout New England and New York State. The Company was started by Wilson C. Blake in 1930 as The Wilson C. Blake Company. In its early history The Wilson C. Blake Company primarily sold and serviced equipment that generated and controlled large volumes of hot water for industrial and institutional applications. In 1945 the Company began representing Cleaver-Brooks, the originator of packaged firetube boilers. Cleaver-Brooks steam and hot water boilers continue to set the standard for product quality, parts availability and service throughout the world. Blake Equipment continues to sell and service Cleaver-Brooks boilers and accessories in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. In the years since 1945 additional boiler and accessory lines have been added including those manufactured by Pennsylvania Separator, Exhausto, BFS Industries and Precision Boiler LLC and others. The boiler business is supported with 19 sales, parts and service specialists. In 1967 Richard Cuda purchased the Company from Wilson C. Blake and changed its name to the Blake Equipment Company, Inc. Shortly thereafter sales and service were extended to include pumps, water pump systems and sewage pump systems. In the thirty years since Dick Cuda has led Blake Equipment the Company has expanded to over 100 employees and eleven branch locations throughout New England and New York State.
