Overview:
K A Vogel Sons was founded by Kurt A. Vogel in 1909. The shop originally opened on the 2nd floor in a building at Randolph and Lake St in Chicago's Loop. Kurt's three sons (Kurt, Edward and Arthur) worked alongside him and were taught the fine craft of sharpening shears, grinding and polishing straight razors. When Kurt A. Vogel died in 1931, his eldest son Kurt took the helm. He and his brothers sought to continue the tradition of excellence that their father had taught them. K A Vogel Sons was incorporated in 1946 and moved to a new location further west on Lake Street. | |
